Bvlgari launched Goldea The Roman Night as the third fragrance in the Goldea line in September 2017. As the name suggest Alberto Morillas was inspired by the Italian capital when he created this amazing scent. To achieve the Roman nights, he used notes of bergamot, raspberry, and tuberose combined with the darker vetiver, patchouli, and black musk for a scent that makes you stop breathing and think. He says: “It’s boring to just smell floral. Here, you have this contrast and ingenuity, but it’s still really feminine,”.
From the Floral Musky Chypre category, the fragrance is a signature scent more for the contemporary women with strong character, appealing and intriguing. The advertising campaign was shot in Roma, where Bella Hadid is the ultimate Roman Goddess and exudes seduction and mysteriousness.
- Top notes: bergamot, black pepper, mulberry,
- Heart: black peony, night-blooming, jasmine, rose, tuberose
- Base notes: patchouli, black musk, vetiver, moss
I love the combination of fruity and floral notes on the first spray, settling down with sensual and powerful warm earthy woody notes. It smells warm, mysterious, powerful, masculine yet feminine and elegant. You can use it daily, but it’s even better to use occasionally as the smell is powerful and elegant.
The packaging is beautiful and delicate and the bottle is black and round like similar with a precious piece of jewelry. The fragrance is available as 25, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.
Tobacco Oud Intense by Tom Ford is a Woody Spicy scent for women and men, launched in 2017. The scent is part of brands luxurious Private Blend perfume Collection and gets a deep and rich composition of perfectly balanced Arabic Doha Tobacco and Oud. As we all know, oud is a rare and expensive ingredient used in perfumes to underline its refinement and its delicate nature.
This is probably my favorite from Tom Ford, it’s much more than just a flanker. I love the original Tabacco Out, but this is more addictive, warm and comforting.
There are notes of tobacco, out, tonka bean, castoreum, and raspberry. The opening is beautiful as well as the dry down. And has just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. The fragrance opens with an interesting raspberry note, which nestles surprisingly well into the sweet animalic notes. Tobacco leaves and tonka bean fuse together to bring about a gourmand-like sweetness and an accent of hay.
Tobacco’s animalic note is intensified with castoreum, cistus labdanum, and oud. Patchouli, Atlas cedar and Australian sandalwood are key ingredients but work more as a backdrop instead of having a lead role. Tom Ford fragrances have a reputation for having big personalities that are very chic but often loud. Tobacco Oud Intense makes no apologies for making its presence known.
The fragrance is announced in the fall of 2015 as a smooth chypre- floral scent. It was created by Sonia Constant and Antoine Maisondieu. Many fragrances claim to be elegant enough for the office but sexy enough for the night, this one included, but this scent is special.
The opening starts with notes of bergamot, soft and bubbly and with a stop of citrus which makes it sweet and spicy at the same time. Once it settles on the skin the heart notes of rose and iris come through. However, the sweetness is not overpowering because the iris’s suede balances it. After a few hours, the leather and vanilla at the base take over with the touch of patchouli’s note.
- Top: Bergamot
- Heart: Bulgarian Rose and Iris
- Base: Patchouli, Leather, and Vanilla
As about the glass bottle is beautiful and elegant. It does represent the glamour and elegance of the brand. It is kind of a piece of jewelry sitting elegantly on the vanity. Overall it is a great floral-leathery-vanilla scent that is sophisticated. This perfume is luminous and sensual and makes you feel elegant and classy about wearing it. On top of all the positive things, it lasts a very long time on me.
Twilly d’Hermes was launched in 2017. It was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel with the desire to make an optimistic, lively, and youthful fresh floral but not ordinary scent. Its name refers to the slim sheaths of Hermès scarves that their customers, often young women, like to tie around the handles of their bags. The ad certainly seems to target young girls. The campaign straddles the line between not too hip and not too twee.
It has three listed notes ginger, tuberose, and sandalwood. The tuberose is so light I expect many are going to think orange blossom is the central floral note. The ginger used here is different from how it is usually presented. Most of the time it adds a kinetic presence lifting the notes underneath it. The base is a sandalwood where the sweeter creamy aspects are amplified and dovetail with the creamy nature of the tuberose.
Twilly D’Hermes has 8-10 hour longevity and moderate sillage. The bottle with its derby hat lid and jaunty silk necktie certainly suggest something stylish yet fun. Looks like the perfect fragrance for a young girl’s first “grown-up” perfume. The fragrance is available as 30, 50, and 85 ml Eau de Parfum.
Le Parfum by Elie Saab is an ultra-feminine, flowery-woody composition designed by perfumer Francis Kurkdijian after 279 trial versions in 2011. The perfume opens with notes of orange blossom. It’s quite sharp in the beginning but you get soon more white floral notes. In the heart, we have jasmine, including Grandiflorum and Sambac. The base is cedar, patchouli and rose honey accord.
- Top Notes: Orange Blossom
- Heart Notes: Jasmine absolute, Patchouli heart
- Base Notes: Cedar accord, Honey rose
It smells wonderful, is very classy and feminine, just like Saab’s gowns, and the square bottle, which is cut like a diamond, is very elegant and would look great on anyone’s vanity. I get about 6 hours of wear before I need to reapply it.
The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum together with an accompanying collection that includes perfumed deodorant, body lotion, body cream and shower gel.
