The Givenchy L’Interdit is the newest version of the 1957 classic fragrance inspired by Audrey Hepburn as the most significant muse of this fashion designer. Over the years, the perfume has had many reinterpretations such as L’ Interdit 2 from 1993, L’Interdit from 2003 and L’Interdit as part of the 2007 Les Parfums Mystiques collection. In 2018 L’Interdit comes out as a new woody floral scent for women developed by the perfumers Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, and Fanny Bal.
This time for the advertising campaign Givenchy chose Rooney Mara a very talented American actress as the new Audrey Hebburn. Rooney Mara began her career playing supporting roles in several independent films. In 2011, Mara had a career breakthrough when she portrayed Lisbeth Salander, the title character in David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on Stieg Larsson’s Millennium book series. She received critical acclaim for her performance and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
The opening of the scent is made in a whirlwind of fresh and refined white flowers, such as orange blossom and fruity notes. This first bouquet brings the necessary light to its elegant heart of tuberose, jasmine and sambac revealing sensuality and elegance. The base of the pyramid’s scent burns a dusty vetiver, continued with a sweet ambroxan. This is a unique opportunity to try merging two epochs on your skin.
